In Yakuza 6, Kazuma Kiryu discovers that humans are willing to sacrifice everything for their family, whether by blood or by choice, as he investigates a nebulous series of events involving the person closest to his heart. Fresh from a three-year prison sentence, an aged and weary Kiryu learns that Haruka, whom he considers his daughter, has disappeared from the orphanage where he is the benefactor. The trail leads him to his old quarters in Kamurocho, where he discovers that she has been hit by a car and has been in a coma ever since. Worse still, Kiryu learns that Haruka now has a son to look after.
