Make intelligent use of the detailed nautical chart to avoid stormy regions, cliffs or shallow waters. Complete tasks for your nation's viceroy to boost your reputation and unlock new buildings, ships and more. Conquer the cities of rival nations, or use a letter of marque to destroy their fleets while keeping an eye out for pirates and other privateers.

For the first time in the history of the series, up to 8 ships will be able to compete simultaneously in turn-based naval battles. Captains can use tactical manoeuvres to turn critical situations around and win the day.
