Performance

Wallpaper Engine aims to deliver an entertaining experience while using minimal system resources. You can choose to automatically pause the wallpaper or turn it off completely when you're using another application or when you're playing full-screen (including borderless windowed mode) so you don't get distracted or annoyed while you're playing a game or working. Numerous quality and performance adjustment options allow you to perfectly adapt Wallpaper Engine to your computer. As a general rule, 3D, 2D and video wallpapers perform best, while websites and applications require more of your system's resources. A dedicated GPU is strongly recommended, but not mandatory.
