Human: Fall Flat for PC is the perfect platformer for those with a quirky sense of humour and a knack for seeing things a little differently. The animations are comical even if the puzzles can be devilish, and you'll spend hours laughing at your character's antics or swearing as you try to work out how to solve the puzzle in question.

About the game

You control a shapeless humanoid figure called Bob - they're all called Bob, it's crazy! - as you make your way through the game. Each level consists of getting Bob to the exit where he enters the next level and starts all over again.

Bob has no special powers, he's completely human and has to navigate the different levels in a very human way: no flying, no death-defying or gravity-defying jumps to avoid bigger-than-usual slides.

Instead, Bob has to use what's around him to enable him to climb, jump and sidestep obstacles in his path. Various secrets are hidden, offering tutorials on how to tackle new challenges: from stacking boxes, to learning how to climb walls, navigate ledges and even collapse walls to get to the other side.

Customise Bob

Bob is a sort of blurred shape at first, vaguely humanoid but featureless and wearing only a baseball cap that is somehow integrated into his overall form. However, playing in co-op or multiplayer mode needn't be confusing, as each player can customise Bob in their own way.

Bob can be dressed in a variety of outfits - you can even get your teammates to imitate the Village People if you like! - Or you can dress him any way you like.

Or Bob can stay naked (for crying out loud)! You can paint his skin any colour you like, including stripes, polka dots or a smiley face. You can put war paint on him, or simply paint his cap: the Paint style customisation tool lets you create your own style with your Bob.

The different ways to play

Solo mode -The most difficult way to play is to guide Bob through the puzzles, finding solutions, fetching and moving objects that will help you, and performing difficult manoeuvres until you've mastered them well enough to reach the end of the level.

Co-operative mode - Your Bob and your friend's Bob can work together to figure out how to get to the exit as quickly and safely as possible, while you enjoy watching their antics and helping each other out. Bob's death grip works on other Bobs, so if one of you has mastered a stunt or jump, let the other hold on tight and be brought safely to a particular spot.

Multiplayer mode - Up to eight of you can work together to solve puzzles as a group. Group is a better word than 'team' as some of the other players may be working against each other, throwing away boxes needed for climbing, selfishly using ropes you all need, or doing other slightly annoying things like that. Slightly annoying because objects tend to reappear or are numerous, and there are usually several ways to find a solution.

Pro tip : In co-op and multiplayer mode, your Bob can hold on to other players to swing or grab onto a climbing wall. In this game, multiplayer is definitely more fun - the more Bobs get their sticky hands on the walls, splash on the cliffs and wonder about solutions, the more fun the game will be.
