Simple, familiar controls for a smooth take-off
The starting airport allows you to land planes and bring in money almost immediately. Aim for profitability by increasing the scale, but don't forget: more passengers, more problems! Getting 2,000 people off the ground is easy. Avoiding bottlenecks for 10,000+ pax will probably require different tactics!

Moving walkways, multi-storey structures, additional terminals, one-way taxiways, staggered timetables and careful distribution of waiting gates - these are just some of the concepts you'll use to master the art of large-scale airport operations.
One size does NOT fit all.
It sounds simple, placing toilets or retail areas for example - but it's more than it seems! Passengers can be distracted when interesting seats or services require a long walk or are far from their boarding gate! Look carefully at the details to maximise your efficiency and reap the benefits.

Ensuring flight punctuality is only part of the battle. Making sure passengers get on their flights is another. When operations run smoothly and passengers are happy to take their flight, you can be sure that the airlines are happy too! If you keep the airlines happy, you'll probably be able to raise prices without creating too much of a fuss, so you'll be able to make bigger profits!

Full fuel system simulation
Fuel can be profitable, or you may even decide to sell it at or below cost price to gain favour with airlines. Also exploit the fuel market as much as possible - with sufficient capacity, you may be able to take advantage of any arbitrage opportunities that arise, which can provide a welcome injection of capital.
Deeply simulated baggage handling systems
From conveyor to carousel, every bag is tracked - observe the journey of every piece of baggage. Lost baggage is a sure way to upset a passenger, but it also starts to cause problems for the airline if it happens often. Baggage handling systems can be quite complicated and you certainly don't want to become a case study like KDEN! Take it easy and plan ahead: setting up a highly efficient baggage handling system is no easy task and requires careful planning!
Pax information systems
Information screens, kiosks and public address systems with electronic zones to house the necessary amplifiers. Keep passengers informed and they'll have a greater sense of urgency as their departure approaches and be less inclined to stray unnecessarily from their gate.
Robust queuing
An extremely powerful queuing system gives you total control. It supports a wide range of configurations, including 'one-to-many' desks, so you can allocate a single queue to multiple service desks. As an option, restrictions can be set for each queue to allow or disallow certain types of people to use the queue (first class, coach and crew), allowing you to create accelerated queues for operational efficiency.
