NEW ORIGINS
Broken chains: You didn't conquer the stars; you were drawn into them as a prisoner of aliens! Now, you and other captives have taken control of the ship and joined forces to survive and prosper as a new, diverse community. Will you be able to rise from your humble origins... and will your former captors notice?
Backlash: No one suspected that your world was being closely watched by superior intelligences... until they invaded. But you're not the type to surrender easily! Your civilisation fought off an invader to conquer space and, with access to their advanced technology, you'll soon be able to discover everything beyond the stars!
Fear of the dark: As you explored your home system, you always suspected that you weren't alone in the galaxy... especially when one of your planets suddenly suffered an 'incident' some time ago. A very large faction of your own people have long preached against tempting fate into the dark abyss of the unknown. Which path will you choose when you need space to grow?
NEW PRE-PRL INTERACTION OPTIONS
What will your role be when a new member of the galactic community tells their origin story? New mechanisms allow a wider range of interactions with pre-PRL civilisations, depending on their level of technology and awareness of your presence. Will your arrival be celebrated or cause mass panic?
CLOAKING TECHNOLOGY
Nobody saw this feature coming! Equip your ships with cloaking devices to scout secretly or catch an enemy unawares; subtly monitor your pre-PRL neighbours with cloaked observation posts. Just make sure your own scanners and intelligence are robust... you never know which neighbour might be lurking in the shadows!
