DayZ is your story
DayZ is a hardcore survival game where you fight for survival in a post-apocalyptic world populated by infected and other survivors. DayZ includes the original map of Chernarus and the map of Livonia.
DayZ Chernarus - The iconic DayZ map, Chernarus, is a former Soviet republic. It offers 230 km² of carefully designed terrain inspired by real places.
Livonia - On this new 163 km² map, you'll discover survival in hardcore mode in a brand new environment. Your survival skills will be essential as you explore the unknown lands of Livonia, and hope to survive in a world that's crueller than ever.
One survivor among many
On the server, you'll meet up to 60 players who are also looking to survive at all costs. Join them or shoot on sight, build a base or run the risk of being shot for a tin can... To interact with other players, use the proximity voice chat and you'll soon realise that every interaction counts when you're risking your life at every moment. So stay on your guard and don't trust anyone.
Chernarus: your worst enemy
You may fear the Infected, but you may underestimate the wildlife and weather of Chernarus. Escape pack-hunting wolves and rabid bears, shelter from the rain and find light in the deepest nights you'll ever know. You'll also have to manage your hunger, thirst and body temperature...
Equipment first
Your equipment will save your life. Repair damaged clothes, tinker with objects and explore ghost towns haunted by the infected to collect vital resources. Repair a car and park it in your secret base, protected by well-camouflaged traps. Explore areas contaminated by toxic gas to find top-quality equipment. But be careful, you won't get far without a dry suit and a gas mask.
Let the gunpowder do the talking
Guns are easy to draw against other players, especially in abandoned military bases... Shooting exchanges will give you heart palpitations. Some want your equipment, others just want your skin. Sometimes a survivor will kill you simply because he's afraid you'll shoot first... You'll learn to fight, but you'll also learn that sometimes you have to run rather than take it. Your fate is hanging by a single bullet, so never let your guard down.

Unravel the mysteries
Head south and try to find your way to a mysterious underground complex. To have a chance of getting in, you'll need to be accompanied by another survivor. And don't come empty-handed: you'll need something to light the way, or you risk getting lost in the maze of dark corridors that awaits you...
