Frostpunk 2 takes the city survival genre to a new level. Take on the role of Steward and steer your city through a cascade of calamities in a snowy, post-apocalyptic setting. Build large neighbourhoods with their endless needs and demands. Navigate the conflicting interests of the factions that populate your metropolis. As the city's needs grow and the power of the factions increases, only you can steer society towards an uncertain future.
The world is overrun by an omnipresent winter, making the expansion of the city humanity's only means of survival. To grow, the metropolis needs resources like coal and oil, just as its citizens need food and warmth. In Frostpunk 2, it's up to you to manage this endless circle of supply and demand.
Your city is divided into zones with different functions, such as housing or extraction. It's up to you to build new ones and ensure that the existing ones work in perfect harmony.
Over time, you'll need to build places like the town hall or the research institute. Inside these buildings, you'll draw up laws and plans to ensure that your town develops in the right direction.
To ensure that your city's growth doesn't falter, you'll need to venture out into the Expanse. Here you can build vast colonies that will provide you with all the resources you need.
The number of your citizens continues to grow, making the task of governing them and satisfying their demands all the more difficult. As Intendant, you'll have to manoeuvre carefully between the interests of the many groups that inhabit the city.
Your citizens can form communities and factions, each with different ideas about the city's future. In the Council Chamber, you propose laws and negotiate them with the faction delegates.
Supporting each faction in the Council Chamber is expensive, because
the rise of one faction breeds discontent in the others. Each alliance must therefore be carefully thought through.
The Research Institute is where you forge the city's future. Each new project must be assigned to a faction, which means you have to manoeuvre and form strategic alliances.
The people of your city want to have a say in how you run things. Each faction has its own ideology and ideas for the future, but they all have one thing in common: an insatiable thirst for power. Choose your allies wisely in the Council Chamber.
The story of Frostpunk 2 is a multi-chapter saga set in the frozen wastes. Spanning the lifetime of the Intendant, this campaign lets you feel the burden of leadership as you take responsibility for thousands of lives. Meanwhile, the sandbox mode called Utopia Builder, with infinite playtime, lets you conduct unlimited social and infrastructural experiments.
Frostpunk 2 comes with a complete and versatile modding tool. FrostKit will allow you to create your own in-game maps, models and scenarios. From now on, only your imagination can limit the direction your city takes!
