In This War of Mine, you're not an elite soldier. You're part of a group of civilians trying to survive in a city under siege; you have to deal with shortages of food, medicine and the constant danger posed by snipers and hostile collectors. The game takes the experience of war to a whole new level.

This War of Mine is punctuated by the cycle of days and nights. During the day, snipers posted outside prevent you from leaving your refuge. So you need to concentrate on maintaining your hideout by crafting items, making trades and looking after survivors. At night, take one of your civilians on a mission to various unique locations to collect items that will help you stay alive.

You must make life and death decisions according to your conscience. Try to protect everyone in your refuge, or sacrifice some to ensure your long-term survival. During the war, forget about good and bad decisions, only survival counts. The sooner you understand that, the better.
