As the human race struggles to survive, these new nations focus their resources on interstellar space travel to find a new beginning for mankind.

As a member of a space expedition sent from Earth in search of a new home, you will write humanity's next chapter. You will lead your people across a new frontier and create a new civilisation in space. Explore and colonise an alien planet, research new technologies, form powerful armies, build incredible wonders and shape your new world. As you embark on this adventure, you'll have to make some crucial decisions. From choosing your sponsor, to building your colony, to choosing the right path for your civilisation, each decision will open up new horizons.

• Embark on an adventure: establish your cultural identity by choosing one of the eight available sponsors, each with its own leader and advantages. Organise your expedition by assembling your spaceship, cargo and colonists through a series of choices that define the conditions for departure on the new planet.

• Colonise an alien world: explore the dangers and benefits of a new planet with mystical resources, dangerous terrain and hostile life forms, all different from those found on Earth. Build outposts, unearth ancient alien relics, tame new wildlife, develop thriving cities and establish trade routes to bring prosperity to your people.

• Technology tree: to reflect your progress in an uncertain future, technological advances occur through a series of non-linear choices that affect the development of humanity. The technology tree is structured around three general themes, each with a distinct victory condition.

• In-orbit action: build and deploy advanced scientific, economic and military satellites that will provide strategic support, defence and attack capabilities from orbit.

• Unit customisation: unlock different upgrades through the technology tree and customise your units to suit your style of play.

• Multiplayer: up to 8 players can battle it out to dominate a new alien world.

• Mods: mods allow you to customise and extend your gaming experience.
