Each of your villagers is a character in their own right. With over 20 characteristics, your villagers can range from powerful stalwarts to eloquent comedians. When you assign a villager to a task, take a close look at their skills and abilities. Not all Vikings are alike, and not all of them excel at the same jobs!
As your colony grows, other Vikings will want to join you. You can decide to welcome them or hunt them. Over time, your Vikings will start new families and give birth to new generations to perpetuate their lineage and strengthen your village.
Earthquakes, incendiary thunder from the heavens... The land holds many obstacles in store for your colony. Join forces to resist these catastrophes as best you can.
Each season, disaster and event brings its own set of challenges. Prepare for storms and blizzards, or simply the long, deadly cold of winter. Stock up on firewood and food to keep your Vikings alive!
Your neighbours are excellent sources of gold and goods. As soon as you've built a trading quay, ships laden with goods will come to visit you. You can also send your own trading ships, provided you have enough villagers to man them... and enough beer to keep the crew hydrated!
But any self-respecting jarl knows that strength is the key to glory. Loot foreign villages for gold, silver and fame points. Train and strengthen your Vikings to ensure victory.
No nasty grids! You can build anywhere you like and organise your village as you wish to increase the happiness of your Vikings. Build monuments to Odin or Freyja and customise the look of your longships. You'll even be able to change the appearance of houses using the building editor, in one of the early access updates!
Unlock new buildings and bonuses by spending Renown Points on the Tree of Life. Discover beer brewing and build a tavern for your villagers to enjoy. Invest in goat rearing to obtain wool and make fabric for better quality clothes. The more you improve living conditions and resources, the happier and healthier your Vikings will be, and the more your colony will prosper!
