Since its launch, Forts has incorporated major improvements, such as :
Forts is an RTS with advanced physics effects, where enemies design and build bases, arm them to the teeth and pulverise their opponents' creations.
Build an armoured fort in real time and arm it to the teeth. Gather resources, develop your technology tree to target your opponents' weak points, and sigh with satisfaction as you watch their forts fall to pieces.
To help new players improve their skills, we've added a 'Training' tab to the multiplayer screen. It contains three missions to teach new commanders some of the techniques they'll need to survive online battles. These missions feature a brand new environment and special effects, teach air defence skills, how to attack buildings and tell you more about structural durability. What's more, players can create their own missions and upload them to the Steam Workshop.
This major free update adds two new technology buildings that give commanders access to six fantastic new weapons. The armoury unlocks anti-aircraft guns to clear the skies of enemy projectiles, and EMI rockets to disable enemy technology. These weapons can be upgraded to an anti-aircraft turret and dual rocket launcher, respectively. The classic cannon can now be found in the new ammunition factory, where it has been joined by its little brother: the 20mm burst cannon. The factory now produces two beam weapons, the classic plasma laser and the new blazing beam, perfect for penetrating fortifications and setting them alight from within.
In an effort to reduce the number of actions per minute and add another element of strategy, we've created the repair station. Available as a machine built directly from the reactor, the repair station repairs damage to building materials and machines in exchange for the current cost of resources. Several repair stations can be built at the same time, but they should be placed thoughtfully to maximise the space they cover, while ensuring that they don't represent too great a cost to your economy.
Players who choose to take part in multiplayer matches will have their battle results displayed alongside their score, and their rank will be adjusted accordingly in the public leaderboard. Seasons last two months, with medals awarded to the top of the leaderboard for 1v1 and 2v2 arena matches.
Three Penguin Commanders of Black Gold enter the fray with new skills to create new multiplayer strategies. Will you choose Seep, the self-propelled projectile madman armed with ultra-fast missiles? Or the insidious Shockenaugh, who leads incursions using explosive barrels? Or Scattershot, an uncompromising man who shoots with purpose?
