A clever blend of survival horror and 2D co-op submarine simulation, Barotrauma draws inspiration from titles such as FTL: Faster Than Light, Rimworld, Dwarf Fortress and Space Station 13. It's a sci-fi game that mixes and mingles ultra-realistic physics, alien sea monsters, teamwork and existential dread.

In Barotrauma, there are just as many ways to die as there are to have fun... Work together with your crew to achieve your goals, but beware, it's not impossible that you may have a traitor on board. Play with friends, strangers or your worst enemies.

EXPLORE, ACT, COMMUNICATE

Sail the depths of the sea, carry out missions for the last vestiges of humanity, explore the ruins of an extraterrestrial civilisation, attack monsters... or flee. On board your submersible, use complex systems and devices, such as sonar, a nuclear reactor, weapons, engines and pumps. Communication is crucial!

EXPERIMENT, BUILD, CREATE

Master ultra-complex on-board cabling, as well as exhaustive crafting and care systems. Use the built-in editors to create submarines and monsters that are second to none to those included in the game. You can even access our source code and modify it as you see fit.

• The game really comes into its own in multiplayer, with 2-16 players. If you need to, populate your submarine with bots. A single-player mode is also available, and is the subject of further development.
• 6 player classes with different skills and tasks: Captain, Engineer, Mechanic, Doctor, Security Officer and Assistant.
• Randomly generated missions and maps, with several game modes for almost infinite replayability.
• Includes random submarine, character and animation editors. Share your mods and discover new ones via Steam Workshop.
• All data accessible in xml; game source code publicly available on GitHub.
