The Earth has changed. Twenty years have passed since the world's leaders agreed to surrender unconditionally to alien forces, and the members of XCOM, the planet's last line of defence, have found themselves decimated. Now, in XCOM 2, the aliens rule the Earth, building gleaming cities that promise a bright future for mankind, while concealing their dark designs and gunning down any dissenters who try to oppose their new order.

Only those living on the world's borders still have a certain amount of freedom. It is here that a force is trying to come together to defend humanity. On the run and facing insurmountable challenges, XCOM will have to find a way to put together a global resistance and eliminate the alien threat once and for all.
