Tekken 7 for PC is a Japanese-style fighting game, the seventh in the series. It's a series of one-on-one matches in which players face five increasingly talented opponents.
About the game
As this is the seventh version of a long and complicated storyline, and the length and complexity only increase with each new edition, it's not surprising that this story is more or less the same, being too long for a detailed description.
Basically, the protagonist is a journalist seeking revenge on the killers of his family. He clashes with underlings who, needless to say, seek to prevent him from uncovering the company's worst secrets, publishing his story and toppling the leader from his lofty and virtually untouchable position.
It's against this backdrop that the game proves its merits, presenting an immersive combat experience that will leave you as breathless and exhausted as if you'd been fighting for real.
A plethora of playable characters
As is often the case with these saga-style games, especially after several releases, there's a plethora of playable characters, including an equal abundance of NPCs (non-player characters). There are over fifty playable characters, ranging from Negan, the modified baseball villain from the hit TV show The Walking Dead to Lucky Chloe, an adorable kitten-themed character whose fighting style includes several dance moves. Find out more about some of the other characters below.
A lighter version with fewer characters is available for initial purchase, with downloadable content and expansion packs for the rest. Game developers respond well to social media interaction and have even changed the appearance of some characters in response to negative feedback.
Characters to look out for
Gigas: This gigantic boy is as red as a letterbox, particularly on his body, which is also crammed with tubes and straps. He was the subject of experimentation by the company's scientists with the aim of designing more powerful hunters. This gave it its monstrous shape and bright red colouring.
Kazumi Mishima / Devil Kazumi: This character was originally one of the unplayable bosses. She's linked to a handful of other characters and possesses a so-called devil gene that gives her serious fighting power: but she doesn't like it, finding the violence abhorrent.
Leroy Smith: This downloadable character has really cool style, even cooler combat skills and an evocative, poignant story. Having lost his entire family as a child, Leroy disappeared for fifty years, only to return to the spotlight as a complete and highly skilled martial artist.
Noctis Lucis Caelum: Sometimes referred to as Noct, this character is a Final Fantasy crossover and brings his unique fighting style with him to the game. He's a short man, under six feet tall, with black hair and blue eyes. However, his unusual outfit - skull patterns play a big part with a decidedly emo air - and the fact that his blue eyes can turn red means he'll never pass for one of the onlookers
