Based on the 2010 game, Tactics Ogre boasts improved graphics and sound, as well as a major update thanks to an in-depth overhaul of its game design. It also features a French translation for the first time. History

The Valeria archipelago, a jewel in the Sea of Obero, has long been a battleground for its peoples, who thrived on maritime trade.

Until the day when one man put an end to the conflict.
He was Dorgalua Oberyth, the 'Conqueror King'.
Dorgalua worked for reconciliation between the clans of the archipelago, and for half a century Valeria prospered.

However, when the king died, the struggle to succeed him raged between the Bakrams, who formed the nobility, the Galgastans, who made up the majority of the population, and the minority clan of Walisters, plunging Valeria back into war.

The conflict eventually died down as the Bakrams and Galgastans each took control of half of the archipelago, but it was clear that the calm was only temporary.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn features

• A scenario with variable development and endings depending on the player's choices. The story is told from the point of view of the young hero Denam, whose decisions during the course of the game influence the destiny of Valeria and its inhabitants.
• Strategic battles take place on 3D battlefields. Thanks to an overhaul of the AI, battles are even more exciting, forcing players to think about the best tactics to adopt against enemies whose actions vary according to the situation.
• Tactics Ogre (2010) abandons class-based levels in favour of a system of independent levels for units (characters). This change gives players greater freedom to combine the game's classes, equipment, skills and magic spells.
• The introduction of a number of gameplay improvements, including faster-paced battles, an auto-save function and a clearer, easier-to-use interface.
• Improved resolution of characters and backgrounds, the quality of which has been unrivalled since the first Tactics Ogre (1995). The image has been refined while retaining the meticulous pixel art that makes this game so charming.
• Dialogue has been dubbed into Japanese and English, and all the music has been re-recorded with real instruments! This gives players a greater sense of immersion in the story, which features many characters with different aspirations.
• The "Tarot of the World" system which, if certain conditions have been met, allows the player to return to the past, keeping their units as they were, in order to make crucial choices in the development of the story.
• The "Chariot Tarot" system allows players to go back several turns in time during battles, making it easier for beginners to get to grips with a game where the slightest strategic error can lead to defeat.
• Plenty of end-of-game content, such as the "Palace of the Dead", a dungeon with no fewer than 100 floors, giving players the opportunity to explore Valeria in greater depth.
