Many survivors fled during the mysterious attack on your ship. Chop up your enemies with the Cook, who's making a comeback, hold the front line and protect your team with the Enforcer, or cover the ground in toxic slime with the purple monster everyone loves: Acrid! Discover new ways to play with 15 unique survivors, each with new abilities to master.

And don't forget the Vagabond! This ingenious brawler collects debris from eliminated enemies to create items that temporarily strengthen her team-mates. She can also keep them for herself and unleash a destructive explosion of unimaginable proportions. The Vagabond is an ideal ally for any group of survivors. Her assistance capabilities combined with her offensive power will prove that she is not dispensable.

Spice up your games by varying the pleasures. Select up to 11 artefacts that will transform your game, each in its own way! Start with a random item that changes every time you use it, or try to repel a fearsome demon invasion every 10 minutes. Try out different combinations of artefacts to discover new ways to play.

Fight your way to the surface while unearthing precious goods. These items, which represent your chance of salvation, will allow you to move faster, inflict more damage or jump a little higher. Others will give you even greater powers, such as the rare Ukulele, which boosts your attacks with its explosive chords. If you're more the explosive type, track down the gleaming Behemoth and transform your most ordinary attacks into a barrage of demented explosions. Each combination is full of surprises. Exploding chains of light are just one example!

The creatures in Petrichor V are as diverse as the planets they come from. When these monsters were threatened with extinction on their respective worlds, a mysterious force brought them to Petrichor V. The planet quickly became home to some of the most dangerous beasts in the galaxy, and they don't take kindly to intruders (that's you). Turn on the ancient teleporters scattered across the planet's surface and traverse the 10 biomes. Survive long enough to find your way back to the ship you were forced to abandon.

Reach the surface solo or with your team! Choose complementary survivors or treat yourself to the one with the biggest gun (spoiler: that's Loader). You won't have to fight alone, thanks to online or local co-op for up to 4 players. And with the enhanced multiplayer mode offered by Risk of Rain Returns, the ever-growing hordes of monsters in Petrichor V will be the only obstacle to your team's survival."
