  • New objectives system
  • European Championships and national teams
  • New official brands (Lazer, Specialized, Vision, Rudy Project, Corima, HJC, Canyon, POC, Merida)
  • Improved peloton behaviour
  • Fast simulations closer to real races

A complete career mode

Pro Cycling Manager's Career mode lets you create your own team or manage an existing team to take it to the top.

You're the team's sporting director, and you have to make the right decisions:

  • Recruitment: build the team of your dreams, if your results allow it
  • Managing sponsors to increase your budget
  • Finances: it's vital to have healthy finances in order to keep the confidence of your sponsors and to be able to recruit new riders.
  • Equipment: manage your R&D team to improve your equipment for better performance.
  • You also need to recruit your staff (trainers, scouts to discover new talent and doctors) to help you manage your team.
  • Training: send out your scouts to find the stars of tomorrow and manage your development team so that you can hope to see them join your professional team.

Build your success in Pro Cyclist mode

In this mode, you create your own rider, join a team and have to progress if you hope to win the world's greatest races... The Yellow Jersey awaits you!

Reach the targets set by your manager to shine and negotiate future contracts with your team... or another. Watch out for bad career choices!

The Pro Cyclist mode features a skills tree that allows you to improve your cyclist according to your objectives.

Once you've proved yourself, you'll become the leader of your team, like Primoz Roglic, Tadej Pogacar or Thibaut Pinot. Your team-mates will then be at your service.

New objectives system

We've overhauled the goal system to make it more realistic and give you more freedom.

From now on, you can set goals for all your riders, with no limit (if they have too many, this will of course have an impact on fatigue). Nevertheless, you'll have to keep your eyes open during the season, because unforeseen events (fatigue, calendar changes, etc.) will affect the morale of your riders.

We've also developed a new AI system that manages riders' objectives and allows us to distribute the leaders more evenly across the major races on the calendar.

This new system also brings changes to the fitness and fatigue system:

  • The type of race is taken into account in the management of fatigue, with some events and conditions being more testing than others: the great classics with cobbles, the weather, the fact that a general classification is played out over a lap.
  • All this adds up to a more dynamic way of playing the game: based on a provisional calendar, you may have to revise your plans during the year, i.e. cancel an important race at the last minute before a major objective because your rider has already reached his fatigue limits.
  • Improvements to AIs' fitness/fatigue management, particularly with regard to fitness for important mid-season (Tour de France) and end-of-season (La Vuelta and Classics/World Championships) objectives.

NEW: European Championships and national teams

We have added the European Championships (road race and time trial) to the season's calendar. These two races are run in the same way as the World Championships, i.e. by national selection.

This means

  • Distinctive jerseys for the winners, as at the Worlds.
  • Improved AI for national selections, for both the World and European Championships. More realistic criteria for building teams and correction of the shortcomings noted in the old system (some leaders not taking part in the event even though the course suited them).
  • New national teams have been added to the database in order to have a sufficient number of teams for the European events.
  • Overhaul of the "National Teams" page.

NEW: More realistic weather

The weather has a greater impact on the fatigue and morale of your riders: some events are known to involve a degree of risk linked to the weather. This will now have an effect on the riders and their fatigue.

In Career mode, the weather is now consistent in stage races. We use real weather data to establish realistic weather conditions day after day.

NEW: Addition of new brands and official equipment

Pro Cycling Manager 2021 offers even more content, with over 800 riders, 80 teams, 260 races and 700 stages.

To make things even more realistic, we've added new official brands:

  • Lazer (helmets)
  • Specialized (helmets, frames, wheels)
  • Vision (wheels)
  • Rudy Project (Helmets)
  • Corima (Wheels)
  • HJC (Helmets)
  • POC (Helmets)
  • Merida (Frames)
  • Canyon (Frames)

We've also added a number of official elements to the Tour's roadsides (kilometre arches, banners, etc.).

Miscellaneous

Improvement in the behaviour of the peloton in sprints, particularly in twisty finishes.

As part of our continuing efforts to improve the Manager interface, we have redesigned the teams page and added new statistics for riders (number of participations in major events, details of race days and results).

Improvements to fast simulations for greater realism:

  • Improved results and consideration of cobbles (Paris-Roubaix for example).
  • Improvements to the hilly classics. Taking into account the Vallon characteristic and adjustments to improve the realism of results such as the Flèche Wallonne or Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
  • The inclusion of stage 21 in the Grand Tours. For greater realism, the flat stages that take place on the last day of a race such as the Tour de France now come down to a sprint.
  • Improved time gaps in the time trial stages. The gaps are now a little wider for improved realism when simulating these stages.

Addition of the rule that allows the best continental pro teams to obtain an invitation to all the World Tour events (for the best) and all those taking place on a single day (for the second). This parameter can be set in the database for modders.
