GATE runs a global network of secret laboratories where the world's greatest minds conduct research into every field of scientific study and beyond.

As a GATE employee, you push the boundaries of human knowledge and seek to explain the unexplainable, including anomalies and paranormal entities that can take the form of gravity-deflecting artefacts or supernatural creatures with unbridled violent instincts. Safety, security and secrecy are of the utmost importance... Usually.

Following a catastrophic containment failure, your workplace has become a cosmic battleground: abnormal entities roam free, enemies from other dimensions use portals to invade the premises and an esoteric military sect known as The Order indiscriminately targets staff and entities in a bid to get their hands on the artefacts and end the chaos.

Containment procedures have failed and no help is on the way. Left to your own devices miles below the surface, you and your fellow scientists will have to band together, plan your escape and make this underground complex your new home, at least for the time being.

Gameplay

Abiotic Factor brings the flavour of 90s sci-fi and elaborate character progression to the open-world multiplayer survival and manufacturing game genre. The game allows up to 6 players to choose their PhDs, shape their scientist, upgrade their equipment and explore a massive underground complex brimming with supernatural artefacts, interdimensional adversaries and the results of scientific experiments gone wrong.

Science meets violence

Between threats from other worlds hunting for their next meal, trigger-happy soldiers and robots from the world's most advanced security system attacking overtime staff, danger lurks around every corner. As a scientist, combat isn't your forte, so you'll need to put your PhD to work to outwit your opponents: use your ingenuity to build strange tools, weapons and equipment. From simple nets and wooden bats to laser cannons and elaborate traps, use whatever your big brain can come up with!

Maintain a healthy balance in your professional life

Make yourself comfortable, because you won't be leaving any time soon. As you explore the facilities, you'll need to pick up resources from deserted offices and laboratories, raid distributors and seize company assets to build your new base of operations. When it's time for a change of scenery, you can transport your gear around the complex using trolleys, pallet trucks, utility vehicles, teleporters and more.

Put on your lab coat and earn your PhD: from plant genetics to defence analysis to structural engineering (among many others), each field will provide you with advantages essential to your survival.
